HR Policy

Objectives and Scope

Slippurinn’s resources lie in the company's employees, their knowledge, and extensive experience. Therefore, Slippurinn aims to recruit, retain, and develop skilled staff by all available means. Slippurinn emphasizes the importance of employing capable and motivated personnel with broad experience and knowledge. The company requires its employees to have at least basic proficiency in the Icelandic language for communication. All employees represent the company externally to customers and partners and should always act as ambassadors of Slippurinn. Employees are expected to act responsibly in their roles and to take initiative for the company’s growth.

Work Environment

A positive and respectful atmosphere is encouraged within the company, and employees are expected to show respect and a positive attitude towards one another.

Equality and Communication

In recruitment, Slippurinn strives for equality across gender, race, and religion, as outlined in the company’s equality plan. The company also seeks to accommodate employees’ family responsibilities. The most qualified candidate is always selected for the role. Full respect is maintained in interactions between employees and management, whether during formal performance reviews or informal communication among employees.

Career Development and Continuing Education

Slippurinn provides opportunities for career development, along with continuing and further education. Employee training and development are reviewed during annual performance reviews, with both the employee and their supervisor responsible for implementing necessary training.

Onboarding of New Employees

The onboarding process for new employees is structured, aiming for them to feel comfortable from the start. This process follows the company’s guidelines, with new employees being “mentored” by an experienced staff member until they become familiar with daily operations at the company. On their first day, new employees receive essential information about their role and responsibilities.

Health Promotion

Slippurinn cares about its employees' health, as better well-being contributes to a more positive and productive workforce. Annual influenza vaccinations are offered.

Uniform Policy

Employees must always adhere to all safety regulations and requirements concerning clothing and personal protective equipment. Any additional safety equipment beyond daily wear must be available to employees whenever needed.
