The operations of Slippurinn are managed in a way that ensures the safety and health of employees are not compromised. Efforts are actively made to reduce the environmental impact of the company's activities, both internally and externally. Slippurinn is aware of its external environment and is committed to maintaining a healthy and safe work environment while protecting its employees, equipment, and assets from accidents and damages. The company’s operations comply with all applicable laws and regulations at all times.


Minimizing Negative Environmental Impact

The negative environmental impact of the company’s operations is minimized by:

  • Promoting better resource utilization, reducing raw material waste, and increasing recycling and reuse.
  • Seeking to select environmentally friendly products and services.
  • Ensuring that all employees of Slippurinn understand and work in accordance with the company's environmental and safety policy and objectives.

Importance

The values and policies for safety, health, and environmental matters are consistently prioritized in all discussions related to the company’s activities. Emphasis and goals in safety, health, and environmental matters hold equal weight with other main objectives, such as financial and operational goals, in decision-making processes.


Responsibility

The company’s preventive efforts are directed at achieving the goal of zero accidents while minimizing the impact of operations on internal and external environments. Managers at all levels are responsible for enforcing and supporting the company's safety, health, and environmental policy (SHE) consistently. Managers are tasked with enhancing employees' general safety awareness through education and reinforcement and must work closely with their teams in implementing SHE solutions.


Scope

All employees of Slippurinn, subcontractor employees, and visitors are required to follow Slippurinn's safety rules and ensure the safety of themselves and others while working or staying within Slippurinn's operational area. Personal responsibility of each individual is always present.



Structure

The SHE matters are managed by the company’s SHE manager. Additionally, there is a safety committee at the company comprising two safety officers appointed by management and two safety representatives elected by the company’s employees.
