The environmental artwork Sókn was formally unveiled on the Old Pier in Grenivík on Saturday, August 16th, in beautiful conditions. The piece is by Sigríður Björg Haraldsdóttir and takes its inspiration from the bow of the boat Hermann TH 34.
Slippurinn Akureyri had the honor of contributing to the final design and preparation for the construction of the artwork. Our team worked closely with the artist on technical details and design adjustments to ensure her vision was realized in full.
The result is a remarkable environmental artwork that brings together the town’s history, fishing heritage, and future outlook. We at Slippurinn are proud to have been part of this meaningful project and thank Grýtubakka municipality and our partners for their trust.
